Hetland Educational Foundation
The Hetland Educational Foundation is dedicated to helping students achieve their educational goals. We provide financial support to high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education at a university or certified technical institution, ensuring that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of success.
Forrest Hetland Award in Agriculture
This award was established in 2005 and is presented to a student continuing their post-secondary education in the field of Agriculture.
Pursue Your Passion Award
This award was established in 2018 and is presented to a student continuing their post-secondary education in a field of their choice, outside of agriculture or healthcare.
Selection Criteria
All three Hetland Educational Foundation (HEF) Awards are designed to enable students to pursue a post-secondary education in the field of their passion. Please read the descriptions for each award then select the award you are applying for. Selection preference is given to those pursuing education in each of the below specific fields, however, students can still apply for any award if interested in a related field.

Financial Need
Our priority is to help eliminate the financial barrier to post-secondary education.

Community Involvement
We want to know how you are an active participant in your school, community, church, etc.

Academic Effort
Although it is part of our criteria, academics is not the main focus of our selection committee.

About HEF
The Hetland Educational Foundation was created to honour Forrest and Doris Hetland and their lifelong commitment to community and opportunity. Today, we continue that legacy by offering three $2,500 bursaries annually to Saskatchewan students pursuing studies in agriculture, healthcare, or any field through our open award.
Student Feedback
This scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies rather than get a job during university so I have less stress.
It was the simplest scholarship I have applied for. Very easy to understand and follow.
The Hetland Educational Foundation has kept me motivated throughout my years to achieve the goals that I had coming out of high school.
